URL Shortener

DVN Links FAQ

Links, QR codes, statistics, plans, payments and data — answers checked against how the service works today.

General

Link shortening is the process of converting long URLs into short, easy-to-remember addresses. Benefits include: Easier sharing on social media and SMS A short, readable address instead of a long query string Click tracking and analytics Edit destination URL without changing the short link

On paid plans links don't expire and work as long as your account is active — you can also set an expiration date for each link individually. On the free plan, links are valid for 30 days; after that the short address and the QR code lead to a page saying that the link has expired.

Yes, in the dashboard or through the API. The short address and the QR code stay the same; only the page they lead to changes — useful once the code is printed.

We offer several options: qrln.pl - the default domain, available on every plan dvnlinks.pl - the portal domain, from the Starter plan dvn.dev - our shortest domain, from the Pro plan

QR Codes

QR codes made in the dashboard go through a short link, so you can change the destination without printing a new code. On the free plan a link works for 30 days — after that the code no longer leads to the destination. A code from the free generator on the site is static: you cannot change its content, but it does not expire either.

From the Starter plan you can change the QR code colours, pick a logo from a ready-made set or have no logo at all. Uploading your own logo file is available from the Business plan.

In the dashboard you can download a QR code as PNG (250, 500 or 1000 px) or SVG. SVG suits print because it keeps its quality at any size. The free generator on the site gives you a PNG.

A code from the free generator is static: the address is stored in the code itself, so it always works, but you cannot change it after printing and you see no scans. A dashboard code goes through a short link — you can change the destination after printing and see scans in your statistics. On the free plan such a link works for 30 days.

Statistics

Country, device type, browser, operating system, referring page, UTM parameters, and the date and time. The IP address is stored only as a hash, never the address itself. We do not know who clicked — no name, e-mail or account of the person is recorded.

No. Every click, QR code scans included, is counted separately. Traffic recognised as a bot by its user agent shows up in your statistics as a separate device type.

Figure description

A diagram in two columns. Recorded with every click: IP address hash (salted SHA-256, not the address itself); country (two-letter code from a Cloudflare header); device (desktop, mobile, tablet or bot); browser and OS (read from the user agent); referring page (the referrer, if the browser sent one); utm_source, medium, campaign (from the URL or the link fields); date and time. Not recorded: the IP address itself (only the hash is kept); city (the field exists, the redirect leaves it empty); who clicked (no name, e-mail or account of the person); what happened next (the destination site's analytics does that). A box about bots: recognised by the user agent, counted in totals but not in the monthly click limit. Footer: the click is saved in the background, the redirect (302) does not wait for it.

Plans and limits

Your links keep working — a printed code does not stop leading to the destination. We record clicks over the limit, and you see them in statistics after moving to a higher plan; we send an e-mail at 80% and past the limit. On the free plan, from four times the limit, visitors confirm on our interstitial page. The limit applies to the whole account: 1,000 clicks on the free plan, 10,000 on Starter, 50,000 on Pro, 250,000 on Business; bots do not count. You can see your usage in the dashboard.

Yes, from the Starter plan: 100 requests per hour on Starter, 10,000 on Pro, 50,000 on Business. You create an API key in your account settings.

Payments

Yes. Businesses with a Polish tax ID (NIP) receive a VAT invoice issued in the National e-Invoicing System (KSeF). Prices on the pricing page are net.

You can cancel at any time in your account settings — the plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Within 14 days of the first payment you can withdraw from the agreement with the button in settings and get a full refund.
